MSN and Habbo revealed as first media partners
05/09/11 – Future, the UK’s leading games media group, is delighted to announce that Dell’s high-performance PC gaming brand, Alienware, is the headline sponsor for this year’s GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards.
Already the world’s most popular videogames awards, the GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards has been made even bigger and better for 2011 with support from Alienware. Voting is open now at www.goldenjoystick.com, and on target to beat 2010’s record figure of 1.54 million votes.
As well as the headline sponsorship, Alienware is putting its name to the Ultimate Game of the Year category, one of the most coveted gongs in gaming.
Alienware is also contributing prizes including five M14x laptops, worth £999 each, and a training session from professional gamers Team Dignitas.
The collaboration between Alienware and the GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards encompasses advertising, editorial, branding and promotion across Future’s multi-platform games portfolio – in print, online, on mobile and on stage. The total audience reach is more than 12 million people* - backed up by a PR campaign reaching millions more worldwide.
The agreement further extends the already successful relationship between Future and Alienware, which also sponsored the PC Gamer Top 100 in 2009.
James Kick, Associate Publisher of the GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards says: "It's great to have Alienware on board. The Joysticks are the world's biggest consumer-voted games awards, so it makes absolute sense for a market-leading brand like Alienware to get involved. This year’s campaign is already set to be a vintage one, and the awards themselves will offer more than ever before – including, for the first time, unique IP reveals setting the agenda for the year ahead."
The first 2011 media partners of the GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards are also announced today. Microsoft’s online portal MSN and Habbo, the globe’s largest virtual world and online community for teenagers, renew their agreements following their successful involvement in last year’s record-breaking event.
Steven Wilson-Beales, MSN Entertainment Content Manager says: “We are delighted to continue our association with the number one video game awards event. The Joysticks reflect the opinions of dedicated gamers and MSN content is created for people in the know, so it’s an apt partnership. Looking at all the fantastic titles we’ve featured on MSN Games over the past 12 months, it’s clear that competition will be fierce. May the best games win!”
Hussain Chowdhury, Director of Global Advertising Sales at Habbo, says: ”The GamesMaster Golden Joysticks is the perfect fit for Habbo and our fanatical gaming audience. We’re looking to build from last year’s avalanche of Habbo user votes and continue to help make this another vintage year for the world’s best videogames awards.”
This year’s GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards ceremony and after-party is at the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza on Friday 21 October. To vote, visit www.goldenjoystick.com. To book a table or discuss commercial opportunities, contact James Haley on 0207 042 4114 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
