London, 10 th August 2011, GamesAid, a UK games industry charity for children and young people, is proud to announce the 2011 nominations are now open for its membership to start proposing charities to share this year’s raised monies. Members are advised to visit the GamesAid website where they will be invited to nominate their favourite charity.
GamesAid looks to support smaller UK based charities that focus on children and young adults. The charities supported give the members feedback on what the donated money will be spent on. Members are reminded that the criteria their charities should meet are as follows: those with a turnover of no more than £5m annually and that spend no more than 30% of their turnover on administration costs. The details for all charities can be found at http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/
Each member can nominate one charity, which will then undergo a process of internal due diligence. The nominations will close on 2 nd of September. The final nominated charities will be announced and voting will open on September 29 th. Voting will close on October 14 th with the successful charities to be announced on November 4 th.
