LOS ANGELES, CA- May 15, 2013- Leading mobile games publisher and developer, GAMEVIL, announced its 2013 first quarter results today, reporting its best quarterly overseas profits to date.
In the first fiscal quarter of 2013, GAMEVIL recorded 17.3 billion KRW ($15.5 million) in sales, 4.8 billion KRW ($4.3 million) in operating profit, and 5.3 billion KRW ($4.7 million) in net profit, reflecting growths of 4.8% in sales and 2.6% in net profit over the previous year's results for the same quarter. The operating profit, however, showed a decrease of 21.4%, due to active investments into Research and Development.
This quarter is highly noted for the best quarterly overseas profits in GAMEVIL history. Despite only a few number of games having launched this quarter, GAMEVIL recorded 9.2 billion KRW ($8.2 million) in overseas sales profits, reflecting a 41% growth over its 2012 first quarter numbers.
This quarter's achievement can be attributed to the continued approach towards
expanding and improving global and customized territorial services to over 260 millions users worldwide. North American and European profits increased significantly this year and carried overall overseas sales profits thanks to the success of hit titles such as Monster Warlord, Fishing Superstars, and the ZENONIA series. With more titles lined up for launch during the second quarter, and brand new titles such as Dark Avenger and Kingdom & Dragons already taking big strides since their release, high expectations are abound for GAMEVIL's second quarter numbers.
GAMEVIL’s Chief Financial Officer, Yong Kuk Lee, stated, “We’re continuing to improve our reach with aggressive investments aligned towards growth in the global market. We have high expectations for the second quarter with 20+ new titles and plan to build on the overseas success reflected in the first quarter.”
This year, GAMEVIL looks forward to launching their 50+ titles to the global and domestic market and continuing their success in North America, Japan, Europe, China, and Southeast Asian territories.
