Rome, March 06th, 2012

AIOMI, Movement for Videogame Culture, is proud to present, at “La Pelanda Sala delle Vasche”, P.zza Orazio Giustiniani 4, in Rome, gamezero 5885: the origins of videogame, a great free exhibition which, from the first experiment in 1958, a primitive tennis simulator that exploited an oscilloscope screen, to 1985, will tell the evolution of a mysterious and wonderful object, the Videogame, in an unique and original way. The exhibition has been produced with the support of Roma Capitale – Assessorato alle Politiche Culturali e Centro Storico and of Gamescollection.it.

Entertainment? Culture? Form of art? All that and much more. 63 illustrated panels, in Italian and in English, giant walls dedicated to the old glories of retrogaming, over 120 original pieces on display, with consoles and original games, and an interactive area to experiment with vintage gaming. gamezero 5885 brings retrogaming to the next level, with the purpose of making the public know the history of Videogames, with all its protagonists, its funniest stories and its incredible adventures.

The exhibition will start with three days of conferences (March 12th-14th), during which experts, professionals and lovers of this field of interest will talk about videogames and retrogaming.

“The work behind gamezero 5885 was huge, but we are proud of the final results”, declared Marco Accordi Rickards, creator and artistic director of the exhibition. “I would like to thank Gamescollection.it and all the other associations and realities which operate in the retrogaming field: they helped us and support us in this great new initiative”.

“After several editions of the Video Game History in Monza, gamezero 5885 is another fundamental goal for Gamescollection.it, which is keeping on making people know and play the first videogames all over Italy”, added Federico Salerno, founder of Gamescollection.it.
