GP Bullhound, the technology investment bank, has acted as the sole financial advisor to the investors of PLAYDEAD ApS on the sale of the Company to founders and management. PLAYDEAD is a leading development studio of downloadable digital games for Microsoft XBLA, Sony Playstation Network and Steam platforms. LIMBO has been acclaimed by the industry for its unrivalled artistic creativity and won numerous awards including Best Downloadable Game, Best Graphics, Excellence in Visual Arts, and Technical Excellence at both E3 and GDC.
Based on the strong performance and success of LIMBO, the PLAYDEAD founders and management have purchased the Company from the institutional shareholders. Mr Ulrik Jorring, a Managing Partner at Vaekstfonden, one of the selling shareholders comments: “GP Bullhound provided top-notch advice throughout this process – their deep domain expertise in the Games sector is second to none.”
This represents the completion of GP Bullhound’s fourteenth transaction in the Digital Media sector since 2009 and, with the recent closure of the King.com transaction, further underlines its leadership position in the global Games sector.
