- A survey by a money-saving site in the UK has revealed the top ten most anticipated video games of 2013, in the eyes of gamers
- Grand Theft Auto V topped the list of the titles that gamers are most looking forward to seeing this year, shortly followed by Gears of War: Judgement
The survey, conducted by www.VoucherCodesPro.co.uk, polled 1,457 gamers from across the UK to find out which 2013 releases they were most looking forward to; after noticing a rise in the number of on-site searches for money saving offers on specific gaming titles that are yet to be released.
Respondents were given a list of games set for release in 2013 and asked to select the ones that they were most looking forward to, and were allowed to choose more than one answer. The following titles formed the top ten ‘most anticipated’ games:
1. Grand Theft Auto V - 72%
2. Gears of War: Judgement - 65%
3. Tomb Raider - 64%
4. The Last of Us - 57%
5. BioShock Infinite - 49%
6. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 -43%
7. Dead Space 3 - 40%
8. Crysis 3 - 37%
9. Beyond Two Souls - 36%
10. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist - 31%
Grand Theft Auto V topped the list with 72% of participants stating that they were looking forward to its release. Gears of War: Judgement was second on the list with 65%, and Tomb Raider, a long term staple of gaming fans, was also high on the list, coming in at third with 64%.
In order to try and get an idea of how much gamers were willing to spend on their hobby, www.VoucherCodesPro.co.uk asked respondents, 'How much do you plan to spend on video games this year?'; to which the average, with all answers taken into account, was ‘£205’.
George Charles of www.VoucherCodesPro.co.uk made the following comment:
“The fact that people are searching for titles that haven’t been released yet just shows how hotly anticipated new games are. I’m also amongst those looking forward to a few of these releases and can’t deny that Grand Theft Auto V is a mouth-watering offering, despite its oft-cited notoriety.”
He continued:
“It’s also good to see Lara Croft getting another run out as the character is such an iconic gaming figure. Personally I was a bit disappointed with the previous Crystal Dynamic offerings, but let’s hope this one lives up to the hype.”
