Greedy Bankers to go Free-to-Play!

The original Greedy Bankers match-em-up puzzler, which spawned a Eurogamer Indie Arcade nominated iPad sequel, is getting a major update this month, and will become free to play.

The new edition, titled Greedy Bankers: Bailout! contains the Arcade Mode of the original iPhone game entirely free, with two new game modes (Bailout and Mystery) available by in-app purchase.

Mystery Mode adds a mind-bending twist to the game, with the colours of the player's gems hidden from view, forcing them to combine strategy with memory to win. Bailout Mode gives players a two-minute time limit, and valuable power-up gems for fast and furious play against the clock.

Greedy Bankers: Bailout! also features brand new music and sound design from musician Tom Parfitt, which has proven incredibly popular with the beta testers.

The game's developer, one-man studio Alistair Aitcheson is keen to make the most of the franchise that launched interest in his work:

"The critical response to the Bankers games has been so encouraging that I know there's more potential for the series to reach a mass audience.

"This is why free-to-play is such an exciting strategy for small studios like myself. Without the widespread recognition of larger studios, getting people to try out a game from a relative unknown can be difficult.

"When a game is free, players are much more likely to try it out of curiosity. My hope is that I'm providing enough high-quality gameplay for people to either feel happy to pay to try the new modes, or eager to recommend it to their friends."

Greedy Bankers: Bailout! will be available later this month.
