GRIPTONITE GAMES RELEASES“DUNGEON SOLITAIRE” ON ITUNES APPSTORE

KIRKLAND, WA– February 25, 2009– Griptonite Games announced the release of their latest title, Dungeon Solitaire, for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. An iPad version is planned as well

Unveiled on the iTunes AppStore today, Dungeon Solitaire invites fans of fantasy card games to engage in a vicious duel of Monsters versus Heroes in an addictive battle to save the Kingdom. Inspired by the development team’s fondness for fantasy card games, Griptonite Games developed and published Dungeon Solitaire as an easy, quick, and engaging way to experience the addictive fun of collectible card games on the go. Dungeon Solitaire is already a hit with the beta audience, and is available now on the iTunes AppStore.

“Virtually everyone at our studio grew up playing traditional fantasy card games,” remarked J.C. Connors, Studio Head of Griptonite Games.“We wanted to bring that fascination to the iPhone universe.” Added Julie Kidwell, Producer,“Traditional Collectible Card Games require multiple players, but Dungeon Solitaire gives you that same addictive play experience, complete with bonus cards and downloadable expansions, in a Solitaire.”

“We believe that this game is going to be an addictive game play experience for both the novice card player and the avid fans of popular collectible card games such as Magic: The Gathering,” said Connors.

With a dungeon prison break gone bad, gamers must protect Castle Wolfcairn from the terrifying monsters crawling up through the dungeons. Players must carefully place their creature, hero, power-up, and dungeon trap cards to stop the monstrous invasion. By drawing and playing cards, players must deploy the right card in order to fend off the terrors of the Oozes, Tunnel Goblins and Dragons that inhabit the darkness of the Castle Dungeon.

Dungeon Solitaire features over 60 fantastic pieces of hand-illustrated, original art created by Griptonite’s world-renowned in-house art team. Dungeon Solitaire also features full OpenFeint support for online leaderboards and achievements to provide easy opportunities for players to flaunt their victories! Two expansion packs are already available at launch, including the undead horrors of the Shambling Dead and the doom of Dragontomb, with more to follow.
