Hamburg, Germany, 01 June 2011– Volkswagen are publishing their latest game for the 35th anniversary of the Golf GTI and just in time for the world’s biggest GTI festival at Wörthersee this coming weekend. Developed by Fishlabs Entertainment, GTI Edition 35 for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad is now available for free on the App Store.
When the first model of the Golf GTI was presented at the Hockenheimring in the early summer of 1976, no one suspected that the fastest Volkswagen to that point, with its sporty design and 110 HP under the hood, would make automobile history. 35 years later, the GTI cult can also be experienced on smartphones in the game GTI Edition 35.
Players can experience the unique, vigorous character of the GTI editions at full throttle in a fully animated 3D cockpit view on photorealistic courses, mostly leading through cordoned off industrial areas. From the first Golf up to the Golf GTI Edition 35, the entire series of the cult car is present. In addition, a virtual 3D showroom with detailed vehicle data and exclusive Golf GTI Edition 35 features is devoted to the anniversary model. In both career mode and time trials, great importance is placed on authenticity. Original paintwork, realistic acoustics, and genuine vehicle data will make the hearts of more than just GTI fans beat a little faster. Thanks to the Volkswagen dealer search via GPS integrated into the game menu, the path to a real test drive is only a fingertip away.
