HandyGames™ and Glu Mobile team up for Townsmen 6

(Nasdaq: GLUU), a leading global publisher of mobile games, today announced a partnership with German developer, HandyGames™, to publish the sixth game in the best seller and award winning Townsmen series of mobile strategy games, which is planned for launch in Q2 2009.

The Townsmen series is one of the most successful strategy game brands in the mobile market. The fast and easy access strategy games paired with cute graphics and a very long playtime have earned the series many awards and acclaim worldwide. The series is a million seller, while earlier this year Townsmen 5 was rated best mobile game in Q1 2008 by PocketGamer.

In this latest episode the game takes place during the French Revolution, where the player is a leader of a small group of revolutionaries fighting the old order to gain influence over the entire country.

Townsmen 6 will be another milestone in mobile strategy gaming with new features, new buildings and a long term motivation for casual gamers and strategy fans. New dynamic features available on some of the latest mobile handsets will be included, like motion-sensing and touch-screen play. The new game will also benefit from improved graphics, an isometric perspective, special effects, a new mini-game, and a new control scheme to make it even more accessible and fun to play.
