Heartwood Delivers 3D Interactive Learning and Marketing Experiences Based on Award-Winning Unity Development Platform to Increa

ORLANDO, FL- - Today at I/ITSEC, Heartwood announced that it is delivering 3D Interactive Learning and Marketing experiences based on the powerful Unity development platform for the Government, Defense, Aerospace, Light & Heavy Equipment and Energy Industry. Heartwood will showcase these at I/ITSEC booth #1935.

Targeting core markets where physical products need to be Built, Operated, Maintained and Marketed, Heartwood is providing compelling, easy-to-use interactive design that can be deployed anytime, anywhere, and on any platform such as Web, PC or Mobile.

"Heartwood delivers compelling 3D Interactivity to enhance learning and marketing experiences, which in turn, increase customers' brand loyalty," said Raj Raheja, CEO and Co-Founder at Heartwood. "Through our work with Unity Technologies, we deliver mind-blowing 3D interactive experiences for employees and their consumers, taking advantage of Heartwood's brilliant interactive design methodologies on Unity's powerful platform."

"Heartwood has been a tremendous advocate for Unity in the Simulation and Visualization market. Their award winning projects on iOS and Xbox 360 Kinect have been banner examples of Unity's cross-platform use in Modeling Training and Simulation," said Davey Jackson, Director of Simulation and Visualization for Unity Technologies. "As Unity continues to grow in the training and simulation space, we are pleased to welcome Heartwood to our Unity Preferred Simulation Partner Program, which allows us to expand our consulting services to opportunities outside the games industry."

Pete Alexander, Director of Business Development and Strategic Planning with L-3 Communication Holdings Inc., commissioned Heartwood to develop a 3D interactive learning application to train engineers without risk to injury or having to use the actual equipment. The 3D learning experience empowered engineers to build, operate, maintain & market all the activities in a 3D environment anywhere, anytime and was deployed on tablet device. In collaboration with Heartwood, L-3 was able to save training dollars and increased engineer productivity by three times. L-3 collaborated with Heartwood to extend this project to develop configurators to help customers configure their products. This resulted in increase in sales. "My clients can see all the specifications they need and see every element and angle, which captures the imagination of the user immediately -- as if suddenly they were a soldier," said Pete Alexander.

"The interest in distributed learning using 3D interactive experience is rapidly growing, and Unity is the best platform for building 3D virtual training and learning experience to help our customer increase their brand loyalty. Unity enables us to bring high realism and fidelity to the learning and marketing experience when integrated with Heartwood's tested design and delivery methodologies," said Neil Wadhawan, Co-Founder and Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Heartwood. "With Unity's unique 'Author Once, Deploy Anywhere' capability, we can provide the modern warfighter with operations and maintenance instruction anytime, anywhere and on any device."

Raytheon awarded Heartwood the contract to develop Web Based 3D Learning Applications for one of their customers based on Unity after seeing the Unity-based prototype ( http://hwd3d.com/services/custom-3d-virtual-trainers-simulations-and-training-videos/raytheon-patriot-web-virtual-trainer/). The US Army is now in talks with Raytheon to revitalize immersive 3D maintenance training applications after seeing this prototype. Many new developments will likely be based on Unity, and there will be multiple deployments to PC, web and handheld devices. Heartwood developed a demo ( http://hwd3d.com/services/handheld-mobile-3d-apps/ipad-application/) of what the 3D learning experience would look like on the mobile platform such as iPad.
