(Kaliningrad, Russia) – May 17, 2012 – Herocraft, a Russian mobile applications and games developer and publisher, today announced the release of Cuboid for iOS, a stunning 3D puzzle game in which players navigate ancient ruins and lush environments, maneuvering a rectangular block through mystical exits. Cuboid, a previous best selling title on the PlayStation® Network, is developed by Creat Studios, produced and co-published by i-Free Innovations, and is now available on the App Store as a FREE download for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
Featuring 77 twisted puzzles and 3 beautifully vibrant environments, the game challenges players of all ages in a variety of mind-bending ways to flip and rotate the game’s main object – the ancient artifact Cuboid - to stand on and pass through a level’s mystical exit as fast and with as few moves as possible, all-the-while being careful not to fall off the map. Starting with simple concrete surfaces, players will find Cuboid easy to play, however, as gameplay advances, players are faced with intriguing obstacles such as fragile tiles, switches, teleporters, or levels that impose move limits to complete the maps.
“ Cuboid takes a simple concept and stretches it into an insanely addictive puzzler,” said Pavel Prokonich, CEO of HeroCraft. “Aside from easy-to-use gameplay mechanics, Cuboid also delivers with unmatched visual clarity and nicely implemented sound effects, fully immersing players in the game’s head-scratching charm.”
“Re-inventing a critically acclaimed game for mobile devices was a challenging task, but we felt that in the end Cuboid would greatly benefit from touch interfaces and the immense beauty of Retina displays,” said Kirill Petrov, managing director, i-Free Innovations. “Altogether this allows players to plunge even deeper into the mysteries of this enthralling, highly challenging and impressively beautiful game.”
