LOS ANGELES - January 9, 2012

LG Electronics is offering a trip to Korea and a chance at cold hard cash to the best Street Fighters in Los Angeles this weekend; lots of it. With free admission for spectators, complimentary food and drinks throughout the event, limited-edition giveaways from iam8bit, and all the gaming action you can handle, the Street Fighter IV HD 2012 Global Championships Tournament Qualifier promises to be a K.O.

• When? Saturday, January 14, 2012, 11am – 6pm

• Where? Belasco Theatre, 1050 South Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015

• Why? Watch superstar players duke it out and enjoy free food, drinks and limited edition t-shirts and posters created by designers extraordinaire iam8bit

• Who? This event is co-hosted by LG Electronics and Capcom Entertainment, sponsored by onGamenet, produced by iam8bit, and organized by Ryan Entertainment, with tournament direction and live-stream production by Level|Up and emceeing by Cross CounterTV.

Participant check-in begins at 8am on Saturday. While sign-ups take place in advance via the website, standby positions will be filled on-site and interested players are encouraged to arrive early. Limited-edition iam8bit t-shirts and posters will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and raffles will be held throughout the day for LG products.

The tournament will be hosted on two platforms: LG Nitro™ HD and Xbox 360. The overall winners of the LA qualifier rounds will be flown to Korea to compete against other worldwide victors in the global championships for a shot at $10,000. Additional prizes will be awarded for the Super Street Fighter IV Nitro™ HD and AE winners, and all U.S. finalists will receive an LG Nitro™ HD mobile device.
