SAN MATEO, CA - March 23, 2009 - Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm for HUDSON SOFT, today announced that Pop‘Em Drop‘Em Samegame, a new puzzle game, is now available for WiiWare™. Designed for casual players, the game is very easy to pick up and play and features multiplayer functionality for up to four people.
Pop 'Em Drop 'Em Samegame features classic puzzle gameplay in which players match two or more colored blocks to clear them. The remaining blocks will shift as other blocks are cleared. If a player is able to clear all blocks, bonus points are awarded. The game allows for play with up to four friends at home in three fast-paced multiplayer modes: Fame Game (get the highest score on your own set of blocks), Shame Game (get the lowest score on your own set of blocks) and Blame Game (get the highest score on a shared set of blocks).
The game is very simple to learn, but takes much practice and planning to clear all blocks. Players only need to match two or more colored blocks and hit a button. The challenge comes when players try to maximize their score. For more variety, players can customize their game by changing how their blocks look, from blocks to stars and even little Bomberman heads! They can also choose from several backgrounds, such as a map or haunted house, and can alter the rules of the game by changing the number of blocks that must be cleared.
"Pop 'Em Drop 'Em Samegame is a terrific value for fans of the puzzle game genre," said Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson Entertainment. "Casual gamers can simply play by themselves or can have a few friends over to play together in one of the multiplayer modes.”
Pop‘Em Drop‘Em Samegame is rated E for Everyone by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
