There is an international army of Android fans - and they’re all wearing sandals, as I, Gladiator , launched last month for Android, has leapt straight to the top of the Samsung Apps global chart.

I, Gladiator is the the epic fighting game that sees the player battle beasts and fell foes in a stunning arena backdrop, cheered on by Romans and gods.

Developer Steel Monkeys released the game exclusively on Samsung Apps through 100% Indie, the initiative that aims to fuel the mobile games independent community.

The game has transferred beautifully onto the new format and 100% Indie has pushed the game as one of its Indie Heroes at E3 in the US and Develop in the UK.

Denis Rybalko, PR manager at Steel Monkeys, commented, “The support and promotion from 100% Indie is fantastic and it truly is a unique service. Releasing I, Gladiator for Samsung Apps with them has been a great experience.”
