[ICON2011] Game Developing Know-how Hearing from Gooseman Minh Le, the Father of ‘Counter Strike’ and the Evolution

Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency announced that Minh Le, the developer of ‘Counter Strike’ and Marco Revelant, 3D artist from Weta Digital are decided as speakers of ‘International Content Creator’s Conference 2011 (ICON2011)’ which will be held at BEXCO, Busan, Korea on November 8.

Minh Le well-known for his nickname ‘Gooseman’ will give a speech for a special session of ICON2011. He who co-developed Counter Strike, a mode of famous FPS game ‘Half Life’ with Jess Cliffe had entered Valve in 2002 until he has left in 2006.

Minh Le who left Valve as the plan to develop ‘Counter Strike 2′ has postponed in definitely joined forces with PIX Korea, Korean game developer, in 2008 after 2 years of his own project. Now he’s under development of ‘Tactical Intervention,’ new FPS game of PIX Korea.

Marco Revelant, one of keynote speakers, is 3D artist from Weta Digital, the production of movie ‘Avatar’ and has showed his talent through several films such as ‘The Lord of the Rings’ series, ‘King Kong,’ ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ as well as ‘Avatar.’ Recently, he’s participating in production of ‘Tin Tin’ directed by Steven Spielberg and ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ directed by Peter Jackson.

It is expected that Marco Revelant will have a presentation about the evolution of visual effect with his own point of view at ICON2011 Keynote Speech. His presentation will deliver the story about films that he has participated in the production and a statement that movie has to reflect new visual effects according to getting broad the area of digital industry. In addition, based on his experience in Weta Digital, he’s gonna tell the importance of R&D and cooperation with other artists to make the best.

With this, premium sessions from ‘Nexon Developers Conference 2011 (NDC2011)’ held at COEX last May will be showed again and 12 industry experts such as Eun-Seok Yi who is well-know for ‘Mabinogi Heroes’ and Jong-Cheon Park from Lead Software Engineer etc. giving various stories with various themes.

Meanwhile, ICON2011 starts pre-registration through its official blog ( iconbusan.or.kr) from coming October 4 and free entrance tickets for ‘G-STAR2011′ held from November 10 will be given all the participants pre-registered.
