IDLE GAMES FINDS RELIGION WITH DEBUT TITLE IDLE WORSHIP, NOW AVAILABLE ON FACEBOOK

SAN FRANCISCO – March 14, 2012 – Idle Games, a developer that creates wholly original and truly social games, has descended from the mountain top to reveal its debut title Idle Worship, now available on Facebook.  Idle Worship is a god game, (technically it's a polytheistic god game) that connects real-world friends with strangers and features intelligently designed, synchronous gameplay set against hand-painted art and broadcast quality animation.

“The genre of god games taps into today’s fascination with questions like how many Facebook friends you have, or the number of Twitter followers you’ve amassed,” said Jeffrey Hyman, CEO and co-founder, Idle Games.  “But most importantly , Idle Worship realizes the true promise of social games… to create connections and play between friends and strangers alike.  We’ve worked incredibly hard to innovate in art, story and the underlying technology to bring players a social game like no other.”

Idle Worship enables players to collaborate with any other Facebook player to build the largest religion and vie for the worship of friends, strangers and the rather dim indigenous population called Mudlings.  The fate of the flock is in each player’s hands as they rule by terror or compassion all the while protecting their followers from real-time attacks from competing gods and the vile Gel Bags.

“When we founded Idle Games, we asked why limit your gameplay experience to your immediate friends, why not have the option to play synchronously, why not make a game that’s fun, full of humor, and as elegant as your imagination allows,” said Idle Games co-founder Rick Thompson.  “Social games are maturing.  Idle Worship is the genesis of a new era."

Idle Worship Features:

Game in Real Time – Synchronous gameplay allows players to interact in real time – battle or collaborate with millions of other gods as you smite their islands with lightning or cover their domain with harmless bunnies… all as they watch in real time.

Play Anyone, Anytime, Anyway – Proprietary social mechanics connect both friends and strangers.  There’s no more friends bar – play with those who want to play instead of spamming others with requests.  Let Idle Worship find your friends for you.

Play as a God – Bless or mess with friends and strangers. Rule as an evil god and set Mudlings’ heads aflame or rule with kindness and compassion as you shower your Mudlings with bunnies, unicorns and the unconditional love that only a deity feels for its creation.

Interact in a Connected World – Being a god means having no limits. Idle Worship features a completely “unsharded” universe which is just a fancy way of saying… no matter what server you’re on, you can still play in real-time with everyone.

Build & Customize Your Worlds – As a deity, there are a lot of decisions to make.  Cholera. Good idea or bad? What will your island look like? Celebrate your divinity by creating wondrous creatures like the long-tongued Buffaloaf or the docile yet disturbing Pugapilliar. Build personalized altars, idols, and more as your civilization evolves.
