PROVIDENCE, RI—May 15, 2012—Ever wish the real world were closer to the fantasy world of Azeroth? Incantor™, a Kickstarter project from MoveableCode, blurs the lines between fantasy and reality with a new kind of mobile game played with a Smartphone and a magic wand. The game brings the player experience of a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) to the real world.
Built on the principle of "magic made real," Incantor combines the questing, player roles and complexity of an MMOG with the rich strategy of a trading card game to merge reality and fantasy for core gamers. The game has 10 different classes of players, each with different skill sets and abilities, and 13 modes of play (with more being released as the game evolves). Players "level up" within the game as they gain experience.
Using an Incantor magic wand—a sophisticated motion controller with haptic feedback that pairs with a smartphone via Bluetooth—the system identifies and tracks all the spells that have been cast and their intended targets.
Incantor digitally pushes events, hazards, items, foes and lore to locations near you based on the mode of play. The smartphone does all the heavy lifting, offering multiple UI modes to manage your spells, track your friends, enemies, events an d items, and manage strategies—shattering the barriers between digital gaming and the real world.
