PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (May 11, 2012) - Ever wished the real world was just a little more like Azeroth? Well, If Providence startup MoveableCode gets its way, that wish could become reality by the end of the year thanks to today’s launch on Kickstarter of their newly announced game, Incantor™.
Incantor is a new kind of mobile game built on a simple premise: Magic Made Real. Designed for the core gamer, Incantor is played with a magic wand, a smartphone and your friends. The game is a real-world, mobile, fantasy-action game with all the depth and expandability of a big MMOG combined with the rich strategy of a Trading Card Game. Incantor is a revolutionary new mobile gaming format that shatters the barriers between digital gaming and the real world.
As of today, magic and fantasy game enthusiasts will get their chance to make magic real by supporting Incantor on Kickstarter. The project's $100,000 goal will fund the game's roll-out, and get wands - along with their magic - into the hands of supporters by the end of the year.
The Incantor magic wand is a sophisticated motion controller, paired via bluetooth with your smartphone. The system can identify what spells have been cast and who the spell targets, enabling magical battles and quests to take place in the real world. Modeled after an MMOG, Incantor has ten different classes of player, each with different skills and abilities that level up as the player gains experience.
Incantor will be live on Kickstarter from 9am EST on May 11th until June 8th. All Kickstarter backers will receive a variety of in-game and real world benefits. For more information, visit http://incantor.com
