Innovative 1st-Person Puzzle-Platformer wins Game Connection Selected Projects Award

San Francisco, USA – March 9, 2012 – Phobos won this year’s Selected Project Award at Game Connection America after being selected and nominated by the Advisory Board from more than 85 submitted projects. Phobos will now be titled “Best Project of 2012” and Wolpertinger Games will receive a Microsoft Xbox 360 Dev-Kit as a prize.

“Our Selected Projects program is designed to shed light on the most innovative and creative projects that we can find and offers additional exposure to these developers who are constantly pushing the industry forward,” says Pierre Carde, CEO of Connection Events, in their official press release.

Sebastian Bender of Wolpertinger Games: “We invested a lot of time and effort to create Phobos and are very happy and proud of this achievement. This award takes us one step closer to release – and we’re definitely not afraid of inviting publishers or other partners to join us in this venture.”

Phobos throws the player into the terrifying world inside a psychopath’s mind. To escape this mental prison, he must use a completely new way of moving around in 1 st-person perspective – by attracting to and repulsing from floating anchor points. Darkness rules this world and anything that is not lit cannot exist – so without light, one will just fall into the dark where there was a floor before.

To make Phobos a highly immersive experience, it features a very unique art style with strong contrasts, an interactive soundscape and a narrator that comments on the player’s every move – creating a tense, twisted plot. Phobos is currently in development and Wolpertinger Games is looking for funding and distribution partners; a release date is not set yet. Stay updated:
