Innovative new runner and Next Game Boss contestant Death Boulder Bones prepares Kickstarter campaign

February 5, 2013

Grandendroit, the indie-dev team behind the exciting new auto-runner Death Boulder Bones, is preparing a Kickstarter campaign to help fund further development ahead of an official release this summer. The game is a new take on the popular runner genre, featuring a never before seen indirect control scheme that helped it emerge victorious on episode 2 of this season of IGN’s Next Game Boss. Instead of controlling the game’s protagonist Dr. Indianapolis Bones, players will take on the role of a guardian spirit, drawing walls, jumps, and bending time in order to save the overenthusiastic Dr. Bones from himself. Early player response has been overwhelmingly positive, and the game is expected to shake up the moribund runner genre.

The Kickstarter campaign officially launches late next week, and is expected to raise $25,000 in order to take the title from alpha to release. For more information, follow Dr. Bones on Twitter @drindiebones, or stay tuned to DBB’s official website,

About Death Boulder Bones

Death Boulder Bones is an innovative upcoming auto-runner which has you controlling the environment instead of the character. Using your mouse or touch screen, you draw walls, jumps, and even control time itself in order to lead the near-sighted adventurer, Dr. Indianapolis Bones to the exit. Along the way, you can challenge yourself to collect the many artifacts and secrets hidden throughout a level. It’s a little Lemmings, a little Braid, and a lot of fun.

About Grandendroit

Grandendroit began in 2009 when coder Eli Delventhal and artist Seth Robles met during the first Global Game Jam. Frustrated with the difficulty of realizing their creativity at their day jobs within the gaming establishment, Grandendroit was a place for their own ideas to take flight. In 2011, they brought artist Darrell Atienza on board, and realizing that their sprawling action-RPG Lab Rinth was too ambitious for the small team, began work on an innovate runner, Death Boulder Bones. DBB is now in alpha and appearing on IGN’s Next Game Boss, much to the team’s excitement.
