London, UK – Multiplay, organiser of the UK’s largest gaming festivals, has today confirmed the world premiere of Starbound from Chucklefish at Insomnia 49, August 23-26 th 2013.
Multiplay is proud to announce that Starbound will be demonstrrated to the public at Insomnia 49 and live streamed on YouTube by the biggest global broadcasters.
Starbound has set the crowd funding market alight, blazing through its target funding thanks to huge support from its fans, securing over $1 million in online pre-orders.
In Starbound, players choose between one of six races and become Captain of their own starship to explore new worlds. Featuring an infinite number of procedurally generated planets and dungeons to explore, weapons and armours to discover and monsters to vanquish, Starbound offers a multiplayer experience like no other.
Taking place on the 23 rd – 26 th August 2013 at the Telford International Centre, Insomnia 49 gives fans the opportunity to meet Chucklefish, the developers of Starbound , and bear witness to the first public demo of the game, anywhere in the world.

Featuring the biggest e-sports tournaments in the UK, the hugely popular Minecraft Expo, and now the first demonstration of Starbound , Insomnia 49 is not to be missed.

To-date, over 3,000 spaces have been reserved for ‘bring your own PC and Console’ tickets, while Multiplay is expecting up-to 15,000 visitors through the door across the weekend for the Exhibtion Hall, which features everything from the latest games, development talks and e-tailers selling the latest hardware, to retro gaming arcades and chill out zones; whilst over two million gamers will be watching video streaming online.
