International eSports Conference "Call for Papers" started

BERLIN, February 29th, 2008 - On May 27th and 28th, the International eSports Conference (ESCONF) will be held for the fifth time in Cologne (Germany). ESCONF is the leading conference on eSports and Gaming Communities worldwide. Last year 250 industry experts attended this unique event to further their business knowledge, network, and exchange information with other attendees.

Global Games Media, the company hosting ESCONF, is now calling upon eSports and gaming experts in the industry, science, politics, the media, sports, and the community, to actively participate in the conference by presenting new and interesting information that can further the industry. The ESCONF call for papers will be open until March 28th and is currently soliciting keynote speeches, lectures, and panels.

ESCONF is also soliciting research papers to be presented on topics related to eSports. The conference will also be honoring the author of the best presentation this year with an award of€250 at the show.

All aspects of eSports are welcome topics, from formation of 'local teams', to standardizing rules, to funding plans. When asked about this year's choice of topics Global Games Media CEO Frank Sliwka explained, "'Our goal is to not only present the issues and topics the industry is addressing, but to also provide a forum for experts to discuss and find solutions that can help eSports grow internationally."
