FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Inverness, IL – August 24, 2011
CloakWorks™ announced today that its advanced cloth simulation technology, Shroud™, has been licensed by IO Interactive™, a part of the Square Enix Group, in their upcoming title, Hitman: Absolution™. Currently in development, Hitman: Absolution will use Shroud to create real-time dynamic interactive clothing and soft-body physics effects.
“Shroud allowed us to reach new creative heights with Hitman: Absolution. It was quick and easy to implement into our engine and tool chain, and it really helps Agent 47 look good in his suit...and you know how good Hitman likes to look”, said Tore Blystadt, Game Director of Hitman: Absolution.
“IO Interactive is committed to producing cutting-edge AAA games, as evidenced by its formidable back catalog and success at this year’s E3,” said Joe van den Heuvel, founder and President of CloakWorks.” Shroud will help the team realize its vision for Hitman: Absolution by giving a new level of realism to the graphics.”
Recently appearing at E3 2011 in Los Angeles, Hitman: Absolution impressed fans and media alike, picking up a host of nominations and awards, including GameSpot’s prestigious ‘Game of Show’ award.
Clearly impressed by the visual impact Hitman: Absolution made at the show, GameSpot commented: “It's clear from looking at Absolution that it is being developed with an attention to detail and visual artistry that you don't see very often.”
