Cambridge, UK 11 th May 2011- Jagex Games Studio, the UK’s largest independent developer and publisher, will be hosting a recruitment event in Brighton for employees affected by the redundancies at Black Rock Studio.

A team of senior recruiters and executives, including VP of Technologies Nick Thompson, Art Director Pascal Blanche, Head of HR Laura Hare and Recruitment Manager Francesco Genovese, will be hosting an informal meet and greet at Revolution in Brighton on Thursday 12 th May, to discuss the current opportunities for ex-Black Rock staff at Jagex.

Jagex has been growing significantly over the last twelve months with over 80 people joining the studio since January. With the release of the 8Realms Closed beta this week and the continued development of RuneScape, the unreleased Stellar Dawn and Transformers MMO, Jagex is still looking to fill 58 positions across all departments.

Francesco Genovese, Recruitment Manager at Jagex, commented:“It is really sad to see another UK developer making redundancies; especially with the number of highly talented people here in the UK.  It is this home-grown talent that has allowed us to become one of the world’s largest independent Indy developers, and we would love the chance discuss our current opportunities with those affected by the Black Rock redundancies.”

The Jagex recruitment session, which will also be attended by RuneScape Content Developer Team Leader Dean Ollive, Lead Animator Dan Bielawski and Associate Producer Chris Pickford, is open to anyone and no appointments will be necessary. The meet and greet will take place between 12pm and 6pm followed by an open bar until 7pm.
