Nottingham, (12/5/11)– GameCity, the world’s best-loved videogames festival, today announced details of the next GameCityNights, the renowned late night exploration of videogames culture. Season 2 Episode 5 will be headlined by TT Games’ Jonathan Smith and will take place on Thursday 26th May at Antenna, Beck Street, NG1 1EQ from 6pm. Entry is strictly 18+. TT Games’ Jonathan Smith, most notable for having blown up the Death Star, won the Quidditch Cup and cleaned up Gotham City, can now add battled a Kraken to his list of achievements, all of which he will recount as he shares the brand new LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean title at May’s GameCityNights.
Beginning at 6pm, Smith will open the Night with the enlightening Frontend, communicating his experience of life at TT Games solely through funny gestures, slapstick gags and amusing sound effects. (Along with, for one night only, some actual spoken words.)
Coinciding with On Stranger Tides, the fourth film in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Smith will offer an unprecedented level of insight into working with some of the biggest franchises in cinema and the challenge behind making them into games, as he shares the details on LEGO-fying Captain Sparrow.

Joining a growing list of impressive names, Brian Provinciano, of Vblank Entertainment, will guest as this month’s From the Desk of to unveil Retro City Rampage, the digital love child of just about every game made over the past three decades, all wrapped up in an 8bit blanket.
Rounding out the evening, Lockwood Publishing Ltd.’s CEO Halli Thor Bjornsson will be on hand to demo new title Sodium2– Project Velocity as he guides fans through its creation as well as host a secret tournament with prizes.
As ever, GameCityNights will also feature the very best indie developers showcasing their work alongside the latest AAA titles, comedian Paul Butler’s Augmented Vision, A Winner Is You prize fund, an impassioned My Game appearance, hot food and a well-stocked bar to round out the night.
GameCityNights run on the last Friday of every month at Antenna in Nottingham, Beck Street, NG1 1EQ.
