LOS ANGELES – Karma Koin, the prepaid card solution that empowers users to create positive change in the world, today announced that it will be distributing prepaid cards in Mexico later this month. Mexico will be the fifth country in Karma Koin’s distribution network, adding more than 1,300 7-Eleven and Best Buy stores to its growing list of carriers.
Karma Koin has been expanding since its official launch in October 2011, and continues to add partners and distribution locations. Customers in Mexico can use Karma Koin cards to make in-game item purchases in a variety of games, including Nexon America’s “MapleStory,” “Mabinogi” and “Dungeon Fighter Online.” Karma Koin users can also make purchases from participating Karma Koin merchant partners.
Because purchases using Karma Koin are same-as-cash, customers can make transactions without needing credit cards and can avoid the risks associated with using credit cards to make online purchases.
“The addition of Mexico to our distribution network will give our Latin American customers access to a responsible, secure and convenient way to make in-game and online purchases from a variety of merchants,” said Makoto Iwai, Nexon America’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy. “With Karma Koin’s growing list of partners, we hope to continue expanding and providing payment solutions to an even greater number of people in the future.”
Karma Koin cards will be sold in MXN 150 and MXN 250 denominations at 7-Eleven and Best Buy stores around Mexico. Karma Koin cards can also be found in $10, $25 and $50 denominations in more than 75,000 stores around the world including 7-Eleven, CVS/pharmacy, GameStop, Safeway and Walgreens in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Karma Koin’s partners whose products will be accessible in Mexico include GameRage, gPotato, Kill3rCombo, Musicshake, Nexon America and Z8 Games. To learn more about Karma Koin and its recent charity efforts, visit: www.karmakoin.com.
