Leeuwarden, The Netherlands - May 10, 2012. Independent game developer Triangle Studios has launched a crowd funding project on Kickstarter to help finish and improve their latest game Cross of the Dutchman. The studio is developing a game based on the folk legend of Pier the Great, a freedom fighter who was known for wielding a 6-foot blade in battle. The team calls out to those in the gaming community who appreciate cultural heritage, history and awesome action games to help fund their Kickstarter project.
The team has set the goal of raising $50.000 before May 31st. The funds will be used to create new features such as co-op multiplayer, voice overs, animations and additional quests. For every pledge Triangle Studios is offering great rewards, ranging from the game itself, access to the beta, a novel, a T-shirt, an exclusive poster, an in-game character and even a genuine handcrafted sword, forged by a traditional blacksmith using 16th century techniques.

Cross of the Dutchman tells the legendary story of “Grutte” Pier Gerlofs Donia. A hero 7 feet tall with the strength of an ox. A man who stood up to the oppressors of his land after a great injustice was done to him and his family. A kind man who turned into a brute, and took up the task of liberating his homeland, and destroying those who stood against him.
At www.crossofthedutchman.com, Triangle Studios is blogging daily about the development of Cross of the Dutchman. We invite you to join the community and participate in the discussions about the project. Our goal is to create a great gaming experience together with the enthusiasts who join the community.
