KONAMI soars with Red Bull X-Fighters

Freestyle Motorcross heads to Xbox Live Arcade and PC

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced it is to release a fast-paced motorcross title, with Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour released for both Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC this summer.

Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour brings all the thrills and skill of professional freestyle motorcross (FMX), and casts the player as one of the world’s best FMX elite riders, as they take centre stage at the biggest and most respected FMX event to date: the 2010 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour.

KONAMI’s game places players in the middle of all the World Tour action with six prime locations as the backdrop: London, Mexico City, Madrid, Rome, Moscow, and Giza. Users then take to their bikes and launch from huge ramps and attempt to pull off jaw-dropping tricks while flying up to 40 feet in the air. The dynamic camera angles and cinematic replays make these death-defying tricks all the more rewarding.

Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour also delivers the ultimate customisable experience, and offers an array of features to choose from. Would-be FMX legends can challenge themselves via four main game modes:‘Show Off’,‘Pressure’,‘Time Trial’ and,‘Performer’ in addition to two additional hidden modes. Players can select to be anyone of the greats from the 2010 World Tour, including Nate Adams (USA), Robbie Maddison (AUS), Eigo Sato (JPN), Mat Rebeaud (SUI), Dany Torres (ESP) and Levi Sherwood (NZL).

Players are judged on their ability to perform requiring the mastery of the right level of acceleration, braking and balance, all the while performing awesome stunts during 100-ft leaps. Runs are then rewarded with numerous achievements and a place on the Xbox Live Arcade Leaderboard.

“KONAMI is thrilled to be bringing Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour, one of the hottest extreme sports franchises out there to the real gaming space,” said Martin Schneider, General Manager for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH.“The potential that both KONAMI and Red Bull have on a global scale is endless and we can’t wait to see how fans of both brands respond to the game.”
