Lantana Games Launches Kickstarter for Moonlight – Mistress of Mischief

BOSTON, MA – AUGUST 17, 2012 – Lantana Games has launched a Kickstarter for their new stealth-puzzler Moonlight - Mistress of Mischief. The game stars the titular Moonlight, a medieval thief in a purple robe, as she ransacks castles of all their precious treasure, leaving no survivors in her wake. The game was created for the 2012 Stealth Jam in June and now seeks funding to become a full fledged experience, complete with hand animated HD graphics, a level editor, and over one hundred levels spread across at least five castles.

The Kickstarter for Moonlight is beginning with a goal of $25,000 for the HD upgrade and creation of another ninety levels. Further funding goals reward the community with a full fledged but easy-to-learn Level Editor; a Level Browser with potential Steam Workshop integration; and ports of the final game to other platforms like Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.

Dan Silvers, the game's designer and programmer, says, “Developing Moonlight so far has been great because it's already easy for me to open up the engine and crank out a level in about twenty minutes. The game, though, is just begging for a level editor, one that anyone - even kids – can open up and use instantly. It's a game that has the potential to grow massively beyond the planned 100-150 levels.”

Rewards for the Kickstarter include Alpha access on Desura; early access to the level editor; your design of an item, level, or castle added to the game; inclusion of your likeness in a “Shrine of Donors” in the game, and special editions of the game which come on physical discs and will include live-action FMV transition screens.

The game is already available as a free download for Windows PC's. It features ten levels in two castles, old-school grid based gameplay with a dash of modern stealth mechanics, and placeholder art and music. It can be found at or at Moonlight's indieDB page.

Silvers intends to kick 5% of all proceeds from the Kickstarter forward to different projects on the site.
