LAUNCH OF MY PET DOLPHIN 2 CAUSES A SPLASH IN THE CAPITAL

Milton Keynes– Early morning commuters in central London had an aquatic surprise this morning, after finding that the iconic dolphin fountains in Trafalgar Square had been surrounded by a pod of inflatable dolphins.

This unusual sight was used to raise awareness about a videogame called My Pet Dolphin 2 , a pet simulation title for Nintendo DS™ from games publisher 505 Games, which launches tomorrow. In the game, children get to play as a young dolphin and explore a tropical paradise, while also interacting with a range of underwater animals.

The world-renowned fountain was originally added to Trafalgar Square in 1845 and it’s unlikely that it’s ever been host to such strange swimmers. To promote the game’s launch, 505 Games decided to give commuters a chuckle on their way to work, by decorating the famous fountain with dozens of smiling dolphins, for families to snap and be snapped with. Teams of 505 sampling staff were also roaming the area, demoing the game to visiting families and other tourists during the busy half-term period.

My Pet Dolphin 2, the follow-up to the best-selling original, is available on Nintendo DS tomorrow, priced£19.99 (RRP).
