London, England, December 13 2012: VideoGamer.com, one of the most popular independent video game websites in Europe, is thrilled to announce the hire of Matt Lees and Steve Burns.
Matt joins VideoGamer.com as Video Production Editor having previously worked at Future Publishing on Official Xbox Magazine. He will replace Neon Kelly, who will leave the company at the end of the year to pursue his writing. Working alongside Matt Nellis, Lees will be tasked with producing original video content for the site – more of which will be launching in early 2013.
Formerly a Senior Staff Writer at Imagine Publishing, Steve will be taking the reins of Reviews & Features Editor from Martin Gaston, who is also leaving the company at the end of the year.
"We’re sorry to see Neon and Martin leave and we wish them the best of luck for the future," said VideoGamer.com Editor, Tom Orry. "Finding replacements for the two of them has been tough, but in Matt and Steve I feel we have found two of the most talented people in the industry. I'm sure they with both help continue VideoGamer.com's growth in 2013 and beyond."
Echoing Tom’s sentiments, Operations Director Adam McCann added "I’m excited at the prospects that Matt and Steve bring with them, and I’m really looking forward to them integrating with the team as we move into 2013. VideoGamer.com is the strongest it’s ever been with phenomenal growth this year - November was a record month, with over 1.65 million unique visitors to the website, according to Google Analytics. Expansion and new projects are planned for 2013, with more details to be revealed early next year."
