FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tuesday, 23 August 2011
Animators and the indelibly curious are invited to learn all about the art and technology of animation in two days of free seminars at The Barbican on 2-3 September.
Organised by Skillset and the London International Animation Festival (LIAF), the event is split into four sessions over the two days and features an eclectic array of guest speakers from the industry.
The sessions will cover the importance of Continuing Professional Development for animators wanting to progress in their careers, a look at the vast array of software options out there for animators, where to look for animation work outside TV, and the importance of sound production in animation.
Skillset’s Saint John Walker, who will be chairing a number of the panels over the weekend, said: “We’re really excited to be working with LIAF on this programme. Knowledge is power, and these panel sessions will provide great insight and advice for anyone working in animation who wants to improve their skills and progress in the industry.”
Anna Gregory of the LIAF said: “LIAF is excited to work with Skillset on its first Animation Industry Event. The interest in Animation is growing rapidly and finds itself adopted in many areas of our culture. With Skillset’s help we hope to examine the ever changing skills and experience required by today’s practitioners.”
Entry is strictly by ticket only. Numbers are limited and issued on a first-come first served basis. To attend please contact the Barbican Box office http://www.barbican.org.uk/film.
