Lootsie Launches Next Generation In-Game Rewards Program at Casual Connect USA

LOS ANGELES and SAN FRANCISCO – Aug. 1, 2013 – Lootsie, a new rewards program for mobile, social and casual games that benefits gamers, game developers and advertisers alike, launched today for iOS and Android platforms at Casual Connect USA. Lootsie is an unintrusive rewards layer that doesn’t disrupt or compete with the gaming experience. The platform rewards players for reaching in-game achievements, making purchases and engagement activity, providing them with points they can redeem for real-world goods such as gift cards, prizes, special offers and more. Lootsie comes to market several developers, including:
  • Babaroga
  • First Post Studios
  • Matty Rich Games
  • One Spear Entertainment
  • Sabertooth Interactive
  • Social Gaming Network (SGN)
When users play Lootsie-enabled games, they receive a notification bar – similar to a text message – as they reach achievements the developer has set, alerting them to a Lootsie Point value they’ve earned for that achievement and what rewards they may be able to redeem. Gamers can tap on an in-game notification immediately to redeem a reward, or visit the Lootsie Marketplace later to redeem or view rewards. These options give gamers complete control over which offers they redeem and when.

“We decided to partner with Lootsie for Lucky Lanes Bowling because the platform allows us to tailor in-game achievements and settings according to our needs, while giving gamers an uninterrupted entertainment experience that rewards them with great offers from top-tier retailers,” said Andreja Djokovic, CEO, Babaroga. “We’re always on the lookout for new ways to monetize with as little investment and maximum return as possible; Lootsie represents an ideal solution for creating additive revenue streams and helps us learn more about our users, their habits and what they like.”

"For most companies in digital entertainment, one of the holy grails is linking digital activities directly to physical world commerce, especially within the mobile space,” said Nique Fajors, co-founder and CEO, One Spear Entertainment. “Lootsie's offerings allow us to deliver on that objective; in addition, we are able to provide our gamers with another reason to keep playing Shaq Sky Slam."

Currently, users can access rewards from multiple retailers, including:

  • Amazon
  • BarkBox
  • Best Buy
  • Electric Yoga
  • GameStop
  • Home Depot
  • Hulu Plus
  • Little Black Bag
  • Sephora
  • Starbucks
  • Target
  • Walmart
“We created Lootsie because we saw an opportunity to create a rewards program that enhances the gaming experience, instead of disrupting it with ineffective banner ads, pop-ups and interstitials,” said Marc Mitchell, co-founder and CEO, Lootsie. “Lootsie builds upon natural gamer behavior to offer a much-needed innovation to in-game advertising, creating mutually beneficial connections between all parties involved.”

By reaching players across games and platforms, Lootsie establishes an ongoing conversation between brands and players instead of a one-time interaction. This in turn creates meaningful exchanges with consumers and arms advertisers with the data they need to customize their offers.

Gamers can redeem Lootsie Points at their convenience in the game, via the Lootsie app (coming soon), or online at www.lootsie.com. Developers benefit from Lootsie’s Developer Revenue Share Program, and can easily integrate Lootsie into a game in less than an hour through a drag-and-drop SDK that requires less than 10 lines of code.
