‘Grepolis United’ Involves Players in Game Development

Hamburg, March 8, 2013. InnoGames announced the launch of a new community project in the popular strategy game, Grepolis, today. The initiative, labeled Grepolis United, strives to create a more transparent development process for fans, and encourages feedback for future updates and features. To accomplish this, InnoGames just unveiled a roadmap detailing the upcoming game development and a podcast to better acquaint players with the project.

To close the gap between the development team and fans even more so, a Grepolis Dev Blog will give a glimpse into the current status of activities. One project the game team will be working with the community to produce is already in the works – the rebalancing of units which players can test in the beta server and give feedback about.

Grepolis also just recently deployed numerous sounds and background music into the title for the very first time. Over 150 music effects are now integrated into the Ancient Greek online game, as well as the recently released ‘god theme songs’, and Grepolis’ theme song, recorded by the Brandenburg State Philharmonic.

Grepolis is a strategy game set in Ancient Greece. In the free browser-based title, players are tasked with building up a vast metropolis and uniting with other players to establish a powerful military and conquer far away islands. Currently it boasts over 19 million registered users and is playable in 22 languages.

Next to Grepolis, games company InnoGames has published major browser game titles like Forge of Empires, Tribal Wars and The West. With about 100 million registered users, the German company belongs to the biggest developers and publishers of online games.
