OTTAWA, October 18, 2007 -- Magmic Games and Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm for Hudson Soft, today announced a partnership that will make several popular Hudson Entertainment mobile titles available to smartphone users. Under the terms of the agreement, Magmic obtains the exclusive, worldwide rights to publish several popular Hudson Entertainment mobile titles for play on BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices. The titles will be made available directly to consumers at Magmic.com and Bplay.com, Magmic's BlackBerry and Windows Mobile direct-to-consumer portals, as well as through Magmic's distribution partners.
The agreement will include titles such as the flagship Super Bomberman, the first of the Hudson mobile titles that Magmic will publish.
Smartphones represent the largest growing segment of the mobile gaming and entertainment market. There are currently in excess of 23 million smartphone subscribers in North America, with smartphone penetration growing atan over 100 percent rate in the United States alone in the last year (m:metrics, July 2007).
