Paris, June 1st, 2012 – Majaka announced today that its first title, Ski Champion, has now been downloaded over 200,000 times. In a blog article posted on its website, Majaka goes at length into how the Parisian studio approached the marketing launch and made the most out of the game's presence on the App Store.
" Read up online, and all you'll hear about are the freemium mega-hits of our industry", said Nicolas Godement-Berline, President and co-founder of Majaka. " This is all nice and shiny, but what is it like for the vast majority of free games that do just okay? Freemium is no silver bullet. This is our effort to share our experience with the indie community"
Part 1 of the article focusing on Ski Champion download stats and marketing is already online. Part 2 will dig into monetization, and lessons learnt in the process.
Majaka is currently busy crafting another free-to-play title for iOS platforms.
