Martin Baxter joins Green Man Gaming as Head of Trading

03/05/12 –  Green Man Gaming ( ) - Europe’s fastest-growing independent digital games distributor, has appointed former HMV games category manager Martin Baxter to become the company’s Head of Trading with immediate effect.

Joining Green Man Gaming (GMG) with a brief to extend the company’s consumer proposition, Martin previously spent four years at HMV - leading the company’s entry into the pre-owned games market, strengthening the High Street retailer’s position in the boxed product market.  With over 15 years of experience in games retail, Martin was also instrumental in the early growth of Gamestation.

Martin is the latest respected industry figure to join Green Man’s senior management team, as it strengthens itself for further expansion, with backing from Eden Ventures.  GMG now sells more than 1,000 games from 95 publishers to core gamers in over 155 countries around the world, and operated regionalized stories with local partners in four European territories, including the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland – and its partnership with Gaikai allows gamers to try major releases before they buy.
