Throughout the hour-long session participants will be able put their own questions to the Blitz team using the web chat session, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or via the Blitz Games Studios Twitter feed ( http:///www.twitter.com/_BGS_) and Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/blitzgamesstudios).
The next web chat in the series, on Monday 25 th June, will see experienced artists from the company’s R&D and game development teams sharing their knowledge on a variety of topics aimed at aspiring newcomers to the industry.
“The title of artist is now considered to be a very broad description of a complex creative job role,” says Art Manager Scott Davidson. “As the industry has matured, artists have become more specialised in niche areas of game art, leading to a huge variety of roles that they can fulfil, from the Technical Artist who bridges the gap between art and programming, to the more traditionally skilled Concept Artist. In the Meet the Artists web chat we’ll be looking at a broad range of roles, although regardless of the specialism, the core skills required remain the same; a general grounding in traditional art is absolutely paramount.”
Blitz Games Studios is actively recruiting across all disciplines and for projects targeting a variety of new and upcoming platforms. Full details of all current vacancies are available on the Studio’s careers website: http://www.blitzgamesstudios.com/careers/
