Montreuil, October 16, 2013. Microïds announces the release of a specific version for current PCs (Windows 8 or earlier) of its classic exploration, strategy and management hit title,  "Corsairs Gold", on the Good Old Games (GOG) download platform.

Often requested by the fans, " Corsairs Gold " can now be played on modern computers. This is the opportunity to discover or rediscover this adventure at sea, as well as trading, capturing strategic harbors and sinking pirate ships.

The fans will find in " Corsairs Gold " all the elements that made its success when it was first released. Their negotiation and strategic skills, as well as their fighting spirit will be, once again, put to the test. Managing the crew and their ups and downs, purchasing and selling the goods and battling against enemy ships will provide very little time to the captain to enjoy the scenery.

In " Corsairs Gold ", the tactic view above the ship during the exploration phases and above the battle during boarding, provides the player with a good visibility and information to be able to give priority to the next step.

Authenticity is the key in " Corsairs Gold ". This title features ships that have been recreated from real historical patterns. The player will come across famous characters such as Blackbeard and Red Rackham and take part in sea battles based on real events.

The players can choose between two modes: the Campaign mode, in which several missions follow one another with a definite goal or the Adventure mode where the aim is to conquer for their nation all the harbors on the map.

A reputation system will help the players become more admired than the King (of France or of England) that they serve or more feared than the most savage pirates.

" Corsairs Gold ", which includes all the updates and add-ons of the title since its creation, is available as of October 15, 2013 on PC in a dematerialized version in French, English, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Polish and Portuguese. Buying the game allows the download of the entire original soundtrack.
