Mobile gaming website Modojo experiences record traffic levels as mobile gaming popularity continues to increase

Brighton, UK, March 2013: Gamer Network is pleased to announce record traffic figures for Modojo, its dedicated mobile gaming website. Following its relaunch in January, the site has grown its unique users by 160% and page impression by over 600% to record its best ever performance in a single calendar month (February 2013, Google Analytics).

With 1.5m unique users and 7.2m page impressions, Modojo illustrates that mobile gaming is massively on the rise, a trend Gamer Network wanted to capitalise on with its acquisition of the site back in 2011.  Since then, Gamer Network has invested editorial resource in the UK and US, and delivered a new responsive site design to make it easily accessible via any device.

Group Publishing Director Simon Maxwell commented: “We knew with the Modojo redesign that the desktop version of the site would be important, but making it easily accessible via mobile devices was a major focus. Its responsive design has made the mobile browsing experience much slicker and has been one of the driving forces behind its significant increase, along with a deliberate and focused editorial strategy."

Traffic via mobile devices now accounts for almost 80% of Modojo's monthly audience, and this trend looks set to continue in March.

"Modojo has been a valuable edition to the Gamer Network portfolio," Maxwell added, "ensuring we now offer award-winning multi-platform sites such as Eurogamer.net as well as sites dedicated to each gaming vertical in PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and of course Mobile."

Gamer Network has seen strong growth across its entire portfolio and now reaches over 10m unique users and delivers over 52m page impressions each month, making it one of Europe’s largest games media companies.

Maxwell added: “With a growing portfolio and base of consumers across our websites and events, we are well positioned to not only deliver the best products for consumers and advertisers, but also ensure we are at the forefront of the next generation of consoles, PC gaming and mobile development. Its an exciting time in the evolution of gaming."
