More Manpower for Multiplayer and new IPs - Fishlabs continues its Expansion Strategy

Press Release - for immediate publication –

Hamburg, Germany - March 7th, 2013 – Fishlabs Entertainment continues its expansion strategy by hiring three new employees in March 2013. While the art department will be expanded by two new Concept Artists, the web development team will be strengthened by an additional Web Developer. The new additionals to the Fishlabs staff will be Concept Artist Tobias Frank, who will join the company on March 16th, 2013, as well as Junior Concept Artist Jan Goszyk and Web Developer Jan Kotzebue, both of which have already started working for Fishlabs at the beginning of this month. As a result of the comparatively big number of recruitments of the previous months, Fishlabs has already rented an additional open-plan office at the Großer Burstah 50-52 earlier this year. All in all, the company now occupies a total of 870m² right in the center of Hamburg City.

Tobias Frank, who has specialized in the traditional and digital creation of 2D concept artworks, will join Fishlabs as Concept Artist on March 16th, 2013. Before, the 30-year-old Designer, who graduated from the Munich University of Applied Sciences in 2009, had worked for Related Designs in the same capacity. In that position he had taken part in the development of popular titles such as the strategy bestseller Anno 2070 or the hitherto unreleased fantasy MMO Might & Magic Heroes Online. And also during his studies, Frank had already been able to gather valuable work experience as an artist, when he worked for EA Phenomic and designed, among others, concept artworks for Battleforge.

Jan Goszyk (27) has already joined Fishlabs’ design team as Junior Concept Artist. The native-born Pole finished his studies of Integrated Design with focus on Product Design at the University of Arts Bremen in 2012. Prior to his time at university, Goszyk had already worked on a number of indie projects, such as The Triangle and The Phoenix Rising, as a freelancer and won an Animago Award for the best demo reel 2005 with THESIGN. At Fishlabs, we will now put his knowledge and talent into practice in his new capacity of Junior Concept Artist.

Jan Kotzebue (27) has been hired as the Hamburg-based mobile games specialist’s new Web Developer. Prior to his engagement with Fishlabs, the qualified IT Specialist had been working for net mobile GmbH. In this position he was responsible for the maintenance and advancement of a variety of websites and the lifecycle management of a number of multimedia platforms. At Fishlabs, Kotzebue will optimize the company’s websites for mobile devices and tackle various other projects, such as the general overhaul of the internal support system.

”Our ambitious plans for the future include, among others, the release of our first multiplayer title and the development of a new IP,” says Michael Schade, CEO of Fishlabs Entertainment. “Since the conception and the creation of new gaming experiences as well the scenarios requires a lot of planning in advance, we have taken Tobias and Jan onboard. They are both very talented Concept Artists and their artworks and sketches will be of tremendous help for us, when it comes to the design of potential new characters, vehicles, weapons or sceneries. In addition, the second Jan among our rows will be in charge of our web presences. Among others, he will make sure that our websites will be well-prepared for the traffic rush that the release of Galaxy on Fire – Alliances will hopefully bring forth in Q3 of 2013.”
