MSc Computer Games Course at Goldsmiths Skillset Accredited

The Department of Computing at Goldsmiths, University of London has been awarded the Creative Skillset Tick for its MSc in Computer Games and Entertainment.

The Creative Skillset Tick is an essential signpost that helps students select programmes that are approved by the creative industries. It indicates that a programme has undergone thorough assessment, including a review of graduate employment, work experience and links with the industry.

Professor William Latham, co-director and co-founder of the MSc Computer Games and Entertainment at Goldsmiths, said: “The Tick validates our commitment to providing a programme that flows through into the games industry and is in tune with industry needs, giving our students the launch pad they need to start successful careers."

Professor Frederic Fol Leymarie, co-director and co-founder of the MSc Computer Games and Entertainment, said: “The programme is the first masters level to be accredited in the Greater London area. The MSc in Computer Games and Entertainment equips students with skills and experience they need to hit the ground running.”

In 2012, the MSc in Computer Games and Entertainment witnessed a record year for student placements, across some of the UK’s top computer games companies, including Ideaworks, Splash Damage, Supermassive Games, M&C Saatchi, We R Interactive, Roll7, Climax Studios, Hand Circus and student games physics projects with Havok Intel.

The programme has attracted partnerships with UK games developer Rebellion, world-renowned advertising agency M&C Saatchi, and the National Film and Television School (NFTS).
