MALMO, SWEDEN, 9 May 2008– Interactive Nordic, the first recruitment agency in the Nordic regions dedicated to games market, launches today. Based in Malmo, Sweden Interactive Nordic is the result of an initiative by Spelplan, the Association of Swedish Game Developers, to secure and build talent for games companies in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. The Nordic region is a vibrant cluster for game development but it has not until now been supported by a professional recruitment company to help local companies compete for talent in the global games market.
Per Stromback, Managing Director at Spelplan– Association of Swedish Game Developers commented;“This is very important day for the Nordic games market. We have been looking to build a serious games recruitment operation for 2 years. We are very pleased that local companies have combined with international expertise to bring this project to fruition.”
Erik Robertson, Managing Director of the Nordic Game Program said; "We are very pleased with the establishment of Interactive Nordic as a recognition of the games industry's maturity in our region. All initiatives that contribute to strengthening Nordic game development and its infrastructure are most welcome."
Interactive Nordic is more than a professional recruiter. It recognises the need to inform and educate all sections of the Nordic educational establishment and the various public bodies helping to produce talent to work in the games market.
Sten Stelander, Director of Netport. Karlshamm, the competence centre within the New Media and Creative Industry, said“It is vital that Interactive Nordic is seen as integral to the Nordic games industry. In addition to helping developers find jobs, it will pass on international and national expertise through its consulting services to all client companies seeking to improve their Human Resources management and competitive edge in a growing global battle for talent. We will support Interactive Nordic as it grows to offer the best service possible demanded by Nordic interests.”
Interactive Nordic will be collaborating with its international recruitment partner, Interactive Selection; the UK based international recruiter that has 12 years of experience serving the global interactive entertainment market.
David Smith, Managing Director, of Interactive Selection commented;“we are delighted to help Interactive Nordic build its business in the Nordic region. Recruiting done well can transform the lives of individuals and can transform the success of individual companies. We work to the highest professional standards and expect Interactive Nordic to do the same. We will do our best to bring success to all those who choose to work with Interactive Nordic.”
