1 st of March 2012, Moscow — Seoul. — Russian version of MMORPG Karos Online is now one year old. In less than six month since its launch Russia, CIS and Baltic countries became the largest market for the game.
In February last year Russian version of Karos Online was officially launched under the title Karos: The Beginning ( http://karos.gamexp.ru/). Today it’s one of the most successful games in NIKITA ONLINE’s portfolio. Karos: The Beginning excels South Korean, Turkish, North and Latin American versions of Karos Online in terms of CCU and revenue.
Stepan Zotov, CEO of NIKITA ONLINE, considers the game’s success to be driven by several factors: “Impressive results of Karos: The Beginning should be referred first of all to the game’s quality. At our end, we ensured adequate localization and developed a proper promotional strategy. MMORPGs’ lifecycle can last for years and that’s why it’s important not only to attract new users but to maintain a current audience as well. It’s a task for both publishers and developers. Creators of Karos constantly improve their game in order to retain users lasting interest. “
Being satisfied with Karos: The Beginning market performance NIKITA ONLINE doesn’t intend to change the game’s title. Renaming of Karos Online into Rosh: The Return of Karos was carried out by the US and Korean publishers to stimulate local promotions.
Currently there are three game servers available for the users of Karos: The Beginning.
“We are pleased with the fact that the partnership with NIKITA ONLINE proved truly successful and surpassed even the most daring anticipation. Due to outstanding professionalism of this team Russian Karos Online became the most popular among other versions of the game,” states Seyi Wi, the representative of NHN (international Karos Online publishing rights owner). “Now we are eager to make Karos Online even more attractive place for Russian audience to enjoy their online activities. The first anniversary of Russian Karos Online is a great occasion to celebrate. We send NIKITA ONLINE and Russian gamers our best regards over this memorable date”.
