The Nordic Game Conference Live Pitching Session is back in 2013 for its 4th edition at the Nordic Game Conference in Malmö on 23 May - last year the session was in the top 3 of those attended by conference delegates.
Last year’s winners, Boldai, with their game ‘Blocksworld’, were recently acquired by US virtual world company Linden Labs: “(We) think the Live-Pitching last year was super-great in most ways. The communication before, the pitch training, the panel, prize ceremony - it was all very well arranged and just great!”
Year one winners ‘Football Identity’ are also posed to make a breakthrough in the near future.
Investment and business development specialists, Games Capital working with Nordic Game Resources, believe the Nordic region is still top of the list for investors looking to put funds into games:
“The greed of the Zynga floatation last year has not done the sector any favours with investors,” says Games Capital CEO, Fred Hasson,” but the interest in the Nordic region has not diminished, and we are planning a top slate of investors in Malmö this year, who will be looking for the new Angry Birds, Unity, Minecraft , Supercell and Blocksworld. Being on stage for the live-pitching session is a real challenge but a real opportunity”
How to compete in the Nordic Game Live-Pitching competition
Deadline for submissions is in one month - 12 April 2013.
The one pager must outline a) what problem the project solves b) the investment proposition c) the principals in the team and their track record, d) the investment needed and e) how it will earn investors a good return on investment.
The pitches can be for game projects, tech or internet and digital business propositions
All submissions will receive feedback from the Games Capital team, and 3-5 will be chosen to take part in the final on Thursday 23 May.
All finalists will be offered additional analysis and feedback from the Games Capital team, and help with preparation of their presentations.
