For Immediate Release
The tightly policed by the copyright mob games might be coming to an end but that doesn't mean the end of the games for you.
1D Sports, the re-imagining of classic 2D sports games in a single dimension, has just entered paid public beta and for the princely sum of about a Mars Bar (or $1 US for those parts of the world that confuse Mars and Milky Way) the games never have to end.
Upon completion the game will be released at a price of $2.99 so beta purchasers are going to be getting not only early access to the game but also only paying a third of the price all while getting that warm glowy feeling that comes from supporting an indie developer.
As an added incentive people who want to see their names in excited electrons on a screen can pay more than the full release price and see their names in the credits. Not only a warm glowy feeling but also warm glowy fully aroused electrons to show their buddies how ahead of the curve they are.
Show your support of traditional game styles by helping us promote 1D Sports in all it's old school button bashing glory. We've noticed all the calls in the games media for a return to classic gaming recently in light of a certain official title topping the charts time to back up those words with, errrrm, some words? You guys are the writers I'm just an impoverished coder I'm sure you can do the things with words you're so good at once you've had a play at the game.
About Distorted Poetry
Distorted Poetry was formed in late 2010 by two disgruntled game developers one who did design on games he rarely loved and the other who loved his home brewed games so much he rarely shared them. At it's peak Distorted Poetry had 10 or more people working on mobile games but eventually the shortage of cash dwindled the numbers down to the current one.
About Stephen Parkes
Long time game developer and the sole remaining full time poet Stephen's particular brand of Aspergers makes working for other people difficult so after lecturing to young people on life, the universe and software development he finally decided that selling games like the ones he has been making for 20 years is a valid way to pay the bills and hopes at some point in the future he might actually be able to pay some of those bills.
