OmniMotion Debuts Revolutionary ‘Sky Hunt’ and ‘Bird Up!’ Games, Bringing Accurate, Versatile Motion-Control to Handheld Devices.

Dublin, Ireland – November 13 th, 2012:SkyHunt’ and ‘ Bird Up!’ have arrived in the App Store, bringing the world’s first accurate, versatile Motion Control games to Tablet and Mobile devices.

Created by award-winning, independent Irish entertainment and technology company, OmniMotion, the games have been launched free-of-charge to demonstrate the company’s breakthrough MotionSDK technology, allowing any developer to integrate accurate, versatile and reliable Motion Control / Gesture Recognition into games and apps for any device with a camera. This increasingly popular type of play can therefore now be enjoyed by everybody… today, and without the need to spend lots of money on expensive peripherals or premium software!

‘Sky Hunt’ is a space-age ‘shoot ‘em up’ game with a ‘ Blitz’ and ‘ Patrol’ mode, where you must destroy Enemy Spy Probes to avert an invasion. Track and lock on targets to ‘blow stuff up’, or steer your craft through the city using gentle motions, but you’ll need a steady hand and nerves of steel to play!

‘Bird Up’ is simple, family fun. ‘Teach the Birdie how to fly’, flapping furiously to reach new heights and discover curious objects.  http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bird-up!/id557588588?ls=1&mt=8

MotionSDK is a proprietary Plug-In solution that allows any developer to easily integrate motion / gesture controls into Games and Apps created using standard authoring tools and games engines such as Unity. This means that there’s no need for touching, poking or swiping – simply use the required hand motions within the field of the device’s camera to achieve the desired commands.

“While there’s been lots of speculation about what’s happening in this category, we just wanted to release some simple, fun games that everybody could enjoy… today, while demonstrating to Developers the versatility of our technology so that they could start to use it in their own projects” said Niall Austin, Founder of OmniMotion. “Motion Control is intuitive and engaging so we’re delighted to get these sample games out there, initially for iPad and iPhone users, but with other devices and platforms to follow”.

With an Olympic-endorsed series of Sport Simulations for PC and Mac OSX planned for release in the coming weeks, and with other titles from 3 rd party Developers to quickly follow, OmniMotion is reinventing Motion Control / Gesture Recognition for Developers and Users alike – play and enjoy!
