Open Network Entertainment Launches SafeCard for Young Gamers

Englewood Cliffs, NJ - December 17, 2009

Open Network Entertainment, Inc (ONE) today announced the launch of the ONE SafeCard, an age-specific prepaid card for online games, worlds and social networks. With a focus on gamers 13 and under, the card is launching with the popular online community site Fantage.

“The ONE SafeCard not only ensures that children are provided access to age-appropriate gaming sites, but also enables parents to be able to control where and when their children make in-game purchases.” said Pete Grubb, vice president of sales and marketing for ONE.“Fantage is the perfect launch title for the card, as both of our companies are committed to providing a safe, fun and high-quality experience for younger users. SafeCard is the first of many programs created by ONE to expand the online games segment and generate interest in a new category of online gamers.”

Fantage, short for“Fantastic Age,” is a next-generation community site for young computer users, with games and adventures that spark children’s unlimited curiosity while keeping them connected and interacting with their peers in an extremely safe social network. The Fantage world goes far beyond the typical“player versus computer” concept to combine social interaction with a broad range of creative elements, achieving a truly unique social play experience, all while maintaining strict compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

“We‘re very excited to have Fantage as the launch title for the ONE SafeCard,” said Peter Bae, vice president of marketing at Fantage.“With almost four million users, Fantage is the ultimate safe place for children to play online, helping them learn practical, positive life lessons while offering a great range of age-related activities. The SafeCard is complementary; it helps keep parents involved and up-to-date on how their kids are interacting in the world of Fantage.”

ONE’s SafeCard brand of prepaid game cards provides an age-appropriate rating that is similar to the ESRB rating system used for console games. This rating is intended to give parents extra assurance that this prepaid game card is not only safe, but age appropriate for younger users. For parents, the ONE SafeCard includes an activity monitoring option that alerts parents via email when their child has made a purchase. Additionally, there are no subscriptions or hidden fees, which make for an easy-to-understand and transparent purchasing experience. The ONE Power-Up Game Card and ONE SafeCard branded cards are available at Rite Aid, Fred’s Hometown Discount Stores and F.Y.E. locations nationwide.
