HAMBURG, Germany – 6 February 2013 – The Casual Games Association, hosts to Casual Connect Europe held February 12 – 14, today announced that over 60 pre-qualified indie development teams representing the very best games from indie developers in Europe, would compete in this year’s Indie Prize competition. At stake is the Indie Prize of 5,000 game installs from Applifier.
The five selected winning indie games will be announced at Casual Connect Europe on 14 th February 2013.
As the challenge to find new players increases for all developers of social and mobile games, 5,000 free installs means an important boost for the lucky winners at the Indie Show and Tell. “With close to 150,000 games in the App Store, it’s incredibly hard for new indie games to get discovered,” said Jussi Laakkonen, founder and CEO of Applifier, “Indie games are quirky, fun and share worthy. Everyplay plays to this strength as it lets players share game replays and become the game’s biggest advocates” Jussi continues, “The Indie Showcase at Casual Connect is full of great games and we are thrilled to help the winners get discovered.”
“The Indie Show and Tell is a key initiative for us to showcase the creativity and talent of indie game developers. Great games start with passionate developers and one of these teams could make the next Minecraft,” said Jessica Tams, managing director of Casual Games Association. “Applifier is a great partner to the Indie Showcase as they themselves started out as an indie game developer and understand what developers need to succeed.”
